FAQs
I am based in Bristol and Somerset, and cover the West Country and into Gloucestershire and South Wales. Please do ask though, if you’re further away, as I am sure something can be arranged.
I charge £750 for the planning, writing and delivery of a wedding. I am happy to discuss prices for smaller affairs or vow renewals.
I charge from £305 for a naming ceremony, depending on size, date, nature and location.
Yes, I have public liability insurance through my association with the Humanists UK Celebrant Network.
Humanist weddings are still not legal in England and Wales, but Humanists UK is campaigning hard to change this. Currently you need to have a separate civil service to get the legalities out of the way and you can get officially married for as little as £58 in a registry office.
Often couples will have their civil ceremony at a date of their choosing and then have their actual wedding in front of their friends and families in their humanist ceremony. Think of it like registering a birth of a baby- they aren’t born the day their parents register them, that’s just when they did the legal part!
You can get married wherever you choose- an established venue, a private home, a farmer’s field, the beach, a pub, a bar or a village hall. I am happy to discuss any option with you, and nowhere is off the table!
