I am Amy Lee and I am a wedding, naming and funeral celebrant living and working in the West Country. Thank you so much for visiting my website.
The most important thing you need to know about me is that I love being a celebrant!
My first ceremony was my friends’ wedding a few years ago. What a joy it was! The bride arrived on a homemade raft with her bridesmaids, pulled along by four lovely topless men. She was then deposited on a small, beautifully decorated Wye Valley beach to meet her groom. This was where we had the unique love-in I had the privilege to write for them. So many tears and so much laughter!
Why I love being a celebrant
Being a celebrant lets me use the skills I’ve honed over the years. I am able to use my love for writing, my knowledge of literature and poetry and my voice projection to get heard at the back!
I also have one of the most important skills needed to be a celebrant- a love of people. I adore finding out the minutiae of people’s lives and am able to make the ordinary extraordinary as many of my reviews reveal! Because, after all, we are all pretty amazing in our own way!

We were the first ceremony Amy ever delivered, and we feel honoured that we started her on the amazing journey she is on. She gave us the wedding ceremony we had always dreamed of. Amy, and her talent, for understanding people and the experience of being human, made it so special. We will always be grateful.
What was evident was how much you really listened, heard and absorbed of us to create a 30 minute period of time that contained the essence of our voices and our hearts. I can't think about the ceremony without crying. By letting our voices sing, and holding true to who we are, you enabled us to be present and feel the love of all of our family and friends being distracted by the formality or disjunct of 'ceremonial' words and procedures.
Amy spent a large number of hours with us to hear our story and quickly generated a beautiful script for our unique ceremony that we were able to tweak as needed. She also guided us in writing our vows. On the day she was incredible and our family and friends laughed hard and loved every moment of the ceremony. Amy was clear, projected very well and delivered our ceremony like a true professional but with a kind, compassionate and humorous bent. She absolutely made our day!
Amy was an absolutely amazing celebrant. We met with her three times before our ceremony to get to know each other. She asked lots of lovely questions about us and then came up with an individualised script which she sent to us and we were able to read and edit as needed. The ceremony was so beautiful: she told our story without oversharing, it included all the things in it we wanted it to, and it was funny and moving. It was so personal to us.
We just wanted to email to say a massive thank you for our ceremony last weekend. It was absolutely wonderful and captured us and what we wanted to convey perfectly. We were so lucky to find you (and we knew you’d be perfect for us when you said you were a Detectorists fan!). We have had so many compliments on the ceremony from our friends and family, and it was just exactly what we wanted. You captured us perfectly and gave us the most wonderful day.
We were very fortunate to have Amy as our wedding celebrant, she was absolutely fabulous, we both liked her from the moment we had our first chat with her about our wedding. She was very enthusiastic and supportive with our wishes of how we wanted it to be. Amy brought in some great ideas and was very flexible with the length we asked for, we wanted a small affair because we wanted our dogs to be part of it. Even our three dogs liked Amy and behaved better than expected!
