Amy Lee Bristol and Somerset Celebrant

About Me

Hello and thank you so much for visiting my website. My name is Amy Lee and I am a wedding celebrant living and operating out of the West Country, in particular Bristol and Somerset.

The first thing you need to know about me is that I love being a celebrant! I first realised this was what I wanted to do after my friends asked me to write and deliver their wedding ceremony a few years ago. What a joy it was! My friend arrived at the ceremony on a homemade raft with her bridesmaids, pulled along by four lovely topless men. She was then deposited on a small, beautifully decorated Wye Valley beach to meet her groom where we had a veritable and unique love-in.

As for the ceremony- I loved writing it, I loved delivering it and I loved how much they loved it. In that moment I knew this was what I wanted to do for other couples.

Becoming a wedding celebrant has allowed me to use all those skills I have developed over the years being a secondary school English teacher. I am able to use my ability and love for writing, my knowledge of literature and poetry for those amazing reading recommendations, and my voice projection to get heard at the back! No rowdy wedding guests can rival the noise levels of 30 teenagers.

I also have one of the most important skills needed to be a celebrant- a love of people. I adore finding out the minutiae of people’s lives and am able to make the ordinary extraordinary. Because, after all, we are all pretty amazing in our own way!
